Behold:The Dead is Raised

Class Teacher ~ Bonnie Rogers Adults Class for Sunday May 27, 2018

Acts 9:36

A woman, known in her community for doing almsdeeds by helping clothe widows who could not help themselves and doing other good works, got sick and died. She was called a disciple because she was a follower of Jesus. Her body was washed, prepared for burial, and laid in an upper chamber. Two of Jesus' disciples had heard Peter was at Lydda and went to get him. Peter returned with them to Joppa. He listened to the weeping widows who told and showed him the many things that Dorcas had made for them. He put everyone out of the room. He kneeled, prayed, turned to her body and said, "Tabitha arise."  She got up and he presented her alive when he called all the saints and widows back into the room. It became known all over Joppa that Dorcas had been raised from the dead and many believed in the Lord. Lydda had a miracle, Joppa had a miracle, and many people came to know Jesus. Jesus is the same, He never changes. If He prepared the way for His gospel using miracles then, He can do so now. Are you willing to pay the price to be a disciple Jesus can use to prepare the way into men's hearts and lives? Have you considered how Jesus wants you to touch others lives? I desire to see you in Sunday School at 10:00 A.M..

Bible Baseball

Genesis !-4

Sister Stephanie and I are teaming up with each other and taking the youth, juniors, and teens.  We are using a different approach to teaching with Bible baseball.  The students are to read and study the scriptures given for the next week.  This will be Genesis 1-4.  The concept is to know the scriptures so they can answer questions that we ask.  Answering these bible questions is like being at bat.  For each question they answer correctly there will be a base they get on as if they hit a ball.  Each answer will put them closer to a  home base.  If you miss the question, you are out.  Four correct answers and you scored a home run.  The team that wins the most points will win a prize.  So study your scriptures.

I know that Mother's day was Sunday, but The next day my mom died.  May 14, 1987.  She was a godly woman.  I never saw her do the things the Bible comes against, except once and I'll talk about that later.  She was married once before my dad.  His name was Tommy Dunn.  They had one son, Larry, who died with double pneumonia before he was two.  Tommy was killed in Italy in the WW2.  About five years later she met my dad, and they married.  She had pregnancies before us, but she had miscarried all of them.  Then at age 30 she became pregnant again.  This time was different.  She almost died several times.  But God spoke to her heart that she was going to have twins.  The doctor said she was crazy.  8 months later we were taken.  Early, I weighed 3 1/2 lbs, and Jane 2-14 Mom and dad were evangelists.  Then dad forced her to divorce when we were 8.  We lived on her pension from her 1st.  husband and she pastored a church.  Eventually she remarried.  When she failed God, she was hemorrhaging and God spoke to her and said what doest thou here?  We were on the way to the E.R.  She got a staff infection in her right lung.  8 yrs.  in and out of the chest hospital.  She asks me if I knew of any who might have ought.  She searched her heart to make sure nothing was between her and God. 3 months later she died.
