Called Of God

Class Teacher ~ Bonnie Rogers Adults Class for Sunday Jan 20, 2019

Romans 1:1

Paul asserts that he is a servant of God and called by Him to be an Apostle; set apart for God to use to proclaim His mystery to the world. The mystery of God is the good news that the Father sent His Son Jesus to be the Redeemer of man from the curse of sin by saving those who would believe on the name of Jesus. This gospel is for everyone who is born into this world and Paul preached this good news everywhere he went. He was empowered by the Holy Ghost to do so. How about you? Do you know your calling and are you walking in it? I hope to see you in Sunday School at 10:00 A.M..

If you were to ask any true christian if they trusted God, they would definitely answer yes and, in a sense, they do. The Holy Spirit has been dealing with me about trusting Him for everything. Psalms 20:7 says "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God". If I were to put that in today's language, I would say it this way; Some trust in jobs, their own ability, some in the government or family but God wants us to trust in Him. God uses different means to supply our needs. For example we were in a revival in our church and our battery went out in our jeep. We had no money. My brother and I walked down the dirt road we lived on. We had walked about an eighth of a mile and there was a deep ravine. On the side of the road there was a  battery sitting there six months old. My brother carried it to the house. We had the battery charged and  it was still working good when we got rid of the jeep. When I testified what God had done, the pastor told me after the service that God had told her to buy us a battery. She didn't but God provided. Read Psalms 37. We are headed to the end of the church age. Persecution of the saints is coming and we must be rooted and grounded in the Lord. We must trust God completely for everything. We need to rest and know in whom we believe. When Jesus ascended into heaven he commanded us to receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our rest, our helper, our guide, our comforter. When we can't do things in ourselves, with his help and guidance we can do all He asks. I urge you to seek to know God in his fullness. That is so important for us today.
