There are many opinions of  what the cross represents. I am only concerned with the Cross that Jesus Christ, the Son of God died upon. The cross is our statue of liberty. I sing that song occasionally.  To those who believe (accept, rely on, and live by), it the power of God. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. 13. Which were born, not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor of the will of men, but of God. We can't separate the discourse of Jesus in Gethsemane through the resurrection. from the cross, or our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ The 39 stripes (39 categories of deceases) and so much more.  Jesus paid the awful price of our ransom, that we might have (eternal) life and more abundantly. He is our peace, and sent us another comforter, the Holy Spirit, to lead, guide, and protect. Read the book of John and 1 John- 3 John..Jesus is now sitting on the right side of Father God, making intercession for us. One day soon the Father God  will tell Jesus to go and get His bride, the rapture. All  evil will be set forth. The destruction  of those who didn't  receive Him. The earth will be destroyed and a new heaven and a new earth.  We  will dwell in righteousness. The unbelievers will be in Lake of fire, which burns forever. It is a fearful thing to fall in the hands of a living  God. It's up to you. Is sin worth it?
