I believe I can explain.  First of all, in the beginning God created man in His own image.  Second, God desired for man to love, and worship Him of their own free will.  So Man was created with the ability of free choice.  When man choose to rebel there  had to be a reward for the choices man chose to live God being a God of love gave man many chances before his life was over.  Many things were created when sin (disobedience to God's wishes) were set in men's heart.  Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:   17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.  Immediately after  God said that it was not good for man to be alone and he would make Adam a helper.  In verse 21 God put  Adam in a deep sleep and God took a rib from Adam and made to be his helper, his wife.  Read it for yourself.  Chapter 3 Eve was deceived,  Adam disobeyed a direct command.  Then you go a little farther in the 4th chapter, Cain killed Abel, because of jealousy.  Abraham , at Sarah's insistence married Hagar and had a son, Ishmael, a half-breed, not God's plan.  Ishmael's descendants have been enemies of Israel, ever since.  Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have free will and there are wages to pay.  If we please the Lord and strive to do his will, we receive the reward of eternal life through Jesus Christ.  If not our reward is hell.  God doesn't send us to hell. He provided a way to go to heaven for everyone. We choose to go our own way. God is a loving God. It is not His will that any should perish, but all come to repentance. How can any refuse the gift of God. No one can force you. It is your choice. As for me and my house we choose to serve the Lord.
