As Jesus breaks taboos of the religious elite of the Jews by speaking to this Samaritan woman at the well, He proclaims that God has sent a Gift of Salvation and He proclaims himself to be the Messiah. He is also foretelling the Gift of the Holy Spirit as water springing up from within into everlasting life when the gift of Salvation is received. Since the Jews worshiped God in the temple at Jerusalem, their heart was fixed on the place of worship instead of the Who of worship. He foretold of the time when Worship of God would be in Spirit and in Truth. After her encounter with Jesus, she left to go spread the good news that the Messiah has come. We also need to be about our Master's business of telling the Good News that Jesus loves you and He died to pay for your sins. I am looking forward to seeing you in Sunday School this Sunday.
