Mercy instead of tradition
John 1:1 and continuing
Jesus went to the pool, Bethesda, by the sheep market. Many people were there who were suffering from many kinds of disabilities. These conditions kept them from being able to lead a normal life. Jesus approached one man and asked if he would be made whole. The man told him he did not have anyone to help him get in the water when it was troubled by the angel. Many years he had tried and someone always got in before him. Jesus told him,"rise, take up thy bed, and walk". He did so and the Jews asked him why he was carrying his bed on the Sabbath. They could not even rejoice that he was healed. They showed no mercy and had no compassion. Do we get judgmental and legalistic in looking at others around us? Let us develop mercy and compassion in our dealings with others. We will be looking for you in Sunday School at 10:00.
