After a wonderful miracle of restoration, the Jews began to grumble and complain because this man who had been restored to wholeness was carrying his bed on the Sabbath. When asked why he was doing so, he replied, "the one who made me whole told me to take up my bed and walk." They questioned him about who it was but he did not know and Jesus had blended in with the crowd. Later, Jesus found him in the Temple and told him not to sin anymore or a worse thing could happen to him. He then told the Jews it was Jesus who had healed him and they hated Jesus and wanted to kill Him. Jesus told them that up until now, my father has worked and now I am working. They became even angrier and really wanted to kill Him because he called God His father and this made Him equal with God. Because of their own traditions and belief system, they were blind to the truth. We must always be open to the truth and refuse to allow preconceived ways of thinking to make us blind to the ways and words of our Saviour, Jesus the Christ. I hope to see you in Sunday School.
