Easter is a time of the year for us to remember how Jesus did that we might have eternal life. While we were yet sinners, Christ Jesus died on the rugged cross, despising the shame, He bore the penalty of the sins of the world. How great a price He paid. All He asked is for us to believe.  This is not just knowing that He is.  Webster's dictionary gave the definition of believe - to accept, to live by, to rely on. That changes things. TO  ACCEPT- John 3:16-17  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   Joh 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  Joh 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  "To live by"  is  to follow His teachings  and example.   Jesus  left us an example of His love and compassion.   He left us His word to teach us. @ Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God,  a workman that needeth no to be ashamed,  rightly dividing the word of truth.  John 5:39 Search the scriptures;   for in them you think you have eternal life:   these are they which testify of me.  "To rely on" -  To depend on,  in other words, to trust.   Trust in the Lord and Lean not to thy own understanding.
