Jesus foretells the coming of the Holy Spirit that will live in all believers. Some people said, "of a truth this is the Prophet who is to come." Others asked, "shall the Christ come out of Galilee?" Most of the common people knew the Messiah would come out of Bethlehem and be of the lineage of David. They could not agree who Jesus was. The Pharisees and chief priests had previously told the Temple Guards to take Jesus into custody. When they inquired of the Guards why they had not taken him, the officers told them "never has a man spoken like this." They were ridiculed by the Pharisees and the Pharisees said this people who does not know the law are cursed. In other words, they do not know enough not to be deceived. Again, the self-righteousness of the Pharisees came to the forefront and they looked down on the people they thought were just common. Jesus departed and went to the Garden of Olives. The next day, He came to the Temple and again continued to teach the people. The Pharisees continued to scheme and plan how to entrap Jesus and get rid of Him. How about you? What are you doing with Jesus today. Are you making him Lord of your life or are you being lukewarm in your relationship with Him? How we answer this shows our heart condition.
