Jesus Proclaims His Betrayal

Adults Class
Scripture References:

John 13:16

Story Summary:

Jesus taught His disciples that the servant is never greater than his lord and the one who is sent is not greater than the one who sent him. He stressed the importance of receiving those sent by God. It is as if we are receiving God because the one that has been sent has Him abiding within. When we receive those who are sent by God, it is as if we are receiving Jesus. Judas left the group at this time when Jesus told him to go do what he had to do. As Judas left, Jesus said  "now is the Son of Man Glorified and God is Glorified in Him."  He gave His own a new commandment to love one another as He has loved them. This would identify them as His disciples. Is love for your brothers and sisters in Christ evident in your life? Can the world see and hear the love you have? Will we remain  true to the cause of Jesus and stay on the narrow road to eternal life with him, or will we be like Peter? Peter proclaimed he would lay down his life for Jesus sake but Jesus told him that before the rooster crowed he would deny Him three times. Will we be faithful today to examine our life and be submissive to the cause of Jesus? Will we commit to allowing the Holy Spirit to equip us to stand when we have done all we can. Let us pay attention to the voice of God and become what He wants us to be. I am looking forward to seeing you in Sunday School at 10:00 A.M.
