There is a song we sang in California, "Ye Must Be Born Again". A ruler once came to Jesus by night, asking the way of salvation. John 3:2,  and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Joh 3:3,  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 3:4  Nicodemus answered, how can these things be? Can a man when he is old enter into his mother's womb and be born a second  time? Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water ( earthly birth)  and of the spirit ( spiritually he cannot enter the kingdom of God). That which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit.  Marvel not that I say "ye must be born again". In our teen class we have been studying about the body, (outward shell, the soul, the will, mind feelings and emotions, you might say the control center).  The Lord explained it to me this way; your spirit, before being born again,(the new birth, saved), is like an unborn child waiting to be birthed. When we  ask the Lord to  save us , forgive our sins and come and dwell in our hearts  in faith, we are truly  born of the spirit. we have God, through Jesus, by the Holy Spirit.   That is why it is called being born of the Spirit. This is not the  baptism of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a different experience.  Mark 1:9-11. If Jesus needed to be baptized with the Spirit, why shouldn't we who are so much weaker than he, He is our example, so why do so many  have a unconcerned  attitude about receiving the baptism? That was a bonus!  When we are born again our spirit is like a new born baby.  It must be nurtured, loved, fed ,taught with word so it can grow in the knowledge, nurture and admonition of God. If the church don't train them, the world will deceive them. Or, you have natural adults that are still babes in Christ. I have a problem with 50, 60, 70, 80,  year olds who still have their pacifiers and cry  and whine when they don't get their own way.  When my 5 year old acted like his baby brother, I put a diaper on him . I gave him a bottle or a pacifier. He got the message.  Grow up.  We need the nurture of the word. That is why Sunday School is so important.  Preaching is good, but teaching is also necessary.  Bible study is also good.  As long as we know truth. I pray , Lord help me not to be deceived.
