Jesus Stands Before The Judgement Seat Of Man

Adults Class
Scripture References:

John 18:10

Story Summary:

Judas, in the company of the crowd and officers  who came to arrest Jesus, kissed Jesus, leaving no doubt to those looking for Him that He was the one for which they were looking. Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of one of the servants to the High Priest. Jesus rebuked Peter and told him to put up his sword because if he lived by the sword, he would die by the sword. Jesus was bound and led to the High Priest of Jewish lineage and true power of the office, Annas, and then to Caiphas, the High Priest appointed by the Roman government. He was the son-in-law of Annas. After the mockery of these two sham trials, Jesus was sent to Pilate because only the Roman government could put anyone to death and they wanted Jesus dead at any cost. Pilate, in examining Jesus, found no fault with him and tried to release Him but the Jews would have none of it. Pilate caved in to their demands because they threatened to tell Caesar that Pilate freed one who claimed to be king. Jesus told Pilate that He came to bear witness to the truth and everyone that is of the truth, hears Him. Pilate asked Him, what is truth? Do you ever wonder what is truth? Do you stand for the truth when it is not popular nor politically correct to do so? Are you part of the crowd that says truth is relative? Are you one that straddles the fence?  It does not work that way. Jesus says we must choose whom we serve. We need to declare as Joshua did that, "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."  I look forward to seeing you in Sunday School at 10:00 A.M. It is a good place to be equipped for the Lord's service.
