JUST FOR TODAY: 1Peter1:16 Be ye holy for God is holy and  Hebrews 12:14,  Follow peace with all men, and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. I was associated with a lot of people who say they are holy. I was teaching a youth class years ago. The temporary pastor's children proceeded to tell me that their dad had cheated on his tests to receive his ordination papers. Holy? I don't think so. Acts 3:19 says 'repent and be converted.' (changed) Ephesians 2:8,9,  For by grace are you saved, through faith. Not of yourself, it is a gift of God, 9, Not of works lest any man should boast. We know that we must be saved, born again, though faith in Jesus . Life doesn't end then 1 Timothy 2:15 says to continue in faith and holiness. Works don't make you holy!  But, when we love Jesus, we want to do good work. What is holiness? I'm glad you asked. It isn't what do to get holy. Holiness is maturity. Jesus said take and learn of me. It comes from the heart  and works through. Jesus said that there is no righteous, no not one. Righteous is basically right living before God , with faith in him .Until we are  changed to be like  Jesus,, whether at death or the rapture. From the new birth , we are a work in progress. Hebrews 12:12-15 says , lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees. In faith look to Jesus for strength and guidance, make straight your path,- know his will and do it . Pray and praise. Spend time with his word and him.  The way of holiness is in him. Don't let the hidden sins, envy, strife, bitterness, jealousy, hatred take root, but rather  refuse to accept these when the devil tries to put them in your heart. The first time the opportunity is thrown in your mind, let the devil know that you don't have to accept those into your heart. Yes, sometimes you may feel hurt but ,Pray and trust the Lord Jesus to help you do what you can't.  It gets easier each time. It takes time to heal . My twin sister had been buying their house from their pastor. Both my sister and her husband were disabled. They paid their payments. All of a sudden he told them to get out,; they were going to move back in. They lost the house they were living in.  So my sister had to find a way to move. My niece had some friends help pack things, and I drove up in my truck  and brought them to my house until they could find a place to live. It really hurt the family. but, after they got settled they went back and worshiped until she died. He didn't want but she said to forgive. It is hard to be done wrong from Christians.
