Once more it is time to celebrate the entry of the Christ child into the world. He was sent by God, His Father, to become the required sacrifice that was needed  to forgive each man of his sin who would come to Him in repentance and ask for forgiveness because he recognizes his sinful state of being and knows no one but Jesus can help him. Jesus' birth was foretold hundreds of years before he was born by the Prophets Isaiah and Micah. King David foretold much about Him in the Psalms. We know He came as Prophet, Priest, and King, but more importantly as the Messiah or Christ. He entered this world as a helpless baby and was born to parents who were not rich. He was miraculously conceived by the power of God and the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit. The Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she had been chosen to be the mother of the Messiah. Mary consented to do this. His birth took place in a stable and He was laid in a manger. His entry into the world was proclaimed by an angel to shepherds, a lowly occupation, and a choir of angels was seen and heard by them praising God. They announced His birth and told the shepherds that He could be found in a manger wrapped in swaddling cloths. The Prophet Simon and Prophetess Anna affirmed God's word that He had sent the Saviour to walk among men, to be killed, raised from death, and seated at His Father's right hand. Do you accept Jesus as God's sacrifice today? Do you recognize Him as God's son who willingly bore your sins and gave his life for you? Are you willing to submit your right to yourself in order to follow Him in obedience?
