Jesus has died. His burial was hasty and performed by Joseph of Arimathaea, a secret disciple of Jesus because he feared the Jews, and Nicodemus, who had come to him by night, They brought myrrh and aloes and prepared his body for burial. He was placed in a new tomb, belonging to Joseph of Arimathaea and no one had ever lain in the tomb. It was close to Golgotha, the site of the crucifixion. They had to do the preparation for burial in a hurry because, at sundown, it would be the High Sabbath and no one could do any work. Jesus' disciples were fearful and questioning because they did not understand why Jesus had to die. They thought their hopes and dreams of Jesus being the Messiah were wrong. They did not know what to do. there was no one they could turn to except each other and none understood why Jesus had to die. It was very dark for them at this time. How about you? Are you in a dark time in your life where you do not understand why things are as they are? Remember , it is always the darkest just before sunrise. Stay faithful, keep believing, and Jesus will show Himself to be the Mighty One over your circumstances if you are His. I hope to see you in Sunday School at 10:00 A.M.
