Come on, Lets be honest.
Sometimes we tend not to be honest with ourselves or even with God. We can be deceived, by not accepting the whole truth about things in our lives. We don't like what we see, it is so painful. With most of the people we are holy and I agree that we should be, but, in our flesh there is no way we can. Christ in us the hope of glory. He is our holiness. The fact that Christ lives in us makes us holy. The scripture says there is none righteous, no not one. ( Colossians 1:27, Romans 3:10) Our righteous is as filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6) (1 John 1:8) If ye say ye have no sin, ye deceive your own self and the truth is not in you. I was teaching a young people's class in Florida years ago. the pastors kid were telling me how he had cheated on his tests to become a minister. That was bad enough but , but we had a dinner and the pastor came through the door and was telling another minister that he was perfect. I couldn't say anything but I wondered what he thought being holy meant. Galatians 6:3 If any man think himself to be something , when he is nothing, he deceiveth his own self. It is bad enough that people get deceived, but when they deceive themselves something is really wrong. Then is a good time to ask the Holy Spirit to open up God's searchlight and search their hearts motives. James 1:26 If any man among you seems to be religious and briddleth not his tongue, deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. My mom ,before she passed away, would ask me if I could think of anything, or person that there might be any possible bad feelings or, unfinished spiritual business she might not of finished. She said she prayed that the Holy Spirit would open God's searchlight on her. She wanted to be sure that all was ready to meet Jesus. We need to get ready, Jesus is coming soon. Jesus said that he is coming for those who are looking for him. That indicates being prepared. 1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seem to be wise in this world, let him become a fool. He may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it is written, he takes the wise in their own craftiness. God takes the foolish things to confound the wise of this world. Do things seem to never work out the way you think? Search your life, faith , motives, and if there is something wrong. Are you asking foolishly? James 4:3 Ye ask and have not, because ye ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lusts.
