Peter preaches to the people by pointing out who Jesus is and what their response to Him had been. They denied the very one who came to redeem them and wanted a murderer released to them instead of Jesus, the Son of God, their Redeemer. Through their ignorance they had killed the Son of God but God raised Him from the dead. Peter declared that he and John, as well as many others, were witnesses to this and that faith in His name has enabled the crippled man to be made whole. He invites the people to repent of their sins and be forgiven. Jesus is now seated in heaven and is awaiting His Father's command to go get His children. At that time, He will return as King of Kings. This will bring about the destruction for those who refuse to believe in Him and accept him as Savior and Lord. He reminds them of their position; the children of the covenant of God. Do you know your position before Him today? Have you repented of your sins and received His forgiveness?
