Men are not saved by works, but by faith through grace.  Galatians 6:7-8.  Christians are not overcomers by their own efforts.  The way we become overcomers is through faith in Jesus' grace that He provided for us.  We are not able to do many things by our own strength or wisdom.  God wants us to trust Him and what He has provided, through what Jesus did at Calvary's discourse.  It seems that this was not stressed enough when I was growing up.  Our righteousness is as filthy rags.  Isaiah 64:6 I was fortunate enough for God to reveal this to me many years ago.  It took me a long time to realize that he meant in every aspect of my Christian walk.  It was a gradual process.  Our righteousness is first Christ in us; Then by grace through our faith in him.  Romans 11:5 Even so, as then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.  6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works, otherwise  grace is no longer grace.  Now, on the other hand, we will produce good works.  Ephesians 2:10 For we are  his workmanship in  Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 5:11-12- says not to be a partaker of another man's sins, but expose them.  Genna
