At a council meeting in Jerusalem, the Apostles and Elders are considering whether works of the law are essential for salvation. This is brought about by the Judaizers saying the Gentiles must be circumcised. They determined that hearts are purified by faith and the law is a yoke that flesh cannot bear. The Grace of God provides salvation and is all that is needful. Simeon's prophecy supported their position. He had prophesied that God called Abram out of the Gentiles and, calling him Abraham, he became the father of many nations. Through his lineage came our Savior and Lord, Jesus the Christ, who fulfilled the law and brought in the age of Grace. Do you praise God today for His Mercy and Grace? Do you consider that He removed rituals and works from us? We are to believe in who Jesus is, and what He has done. His shed blood is what provides salvation. Have you believed in Him today?
