Continuing from Romans 12

We left off with discussing brotherly love and renewing our minds, proving what is that good and  acceptable and perfect will of God. Let me say here that we are what we eat, from our head down to our feet. This goes for the spiritual life as well as the physical life. John's computer teacher said, "garbage in, garbage out." This is true for what we put in our minds. Romans 12:3 tells us not to think of oneself more highly than he ought. Selfishness and self-exalting are very dangerous. When one puts himself before God, he is walking in dangerous territory. Isaiah 42:8 I am the Lord: that is my name and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to a graven image. One is to think soberly, God has dealt to every man a measure of faith. We have many members in the body, they are not all the same.  In Christ, we are all members one of another. We have different gifts according to the grace of God. such as prophecy, ministry, teaching, exhorting, all according to our faith, giving  with simplicity, ruling with diligence, he that showeth mercy with cheerfulness. Love without dissimulation (partiality or hypocrisy), abhor (despise, hate) evil, cleave to good,  kindly affectionate with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another. Not slothful in business ( lazy, inconsistent, dishonest), rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing in prayer,( Go about your day with a prayerful attitude), contributing to the necessity of the saints, given to hospitality.  Bless them which persecute you and curse not. Rejoice with them that rejoice and weep with them that weep. Be of one mind, mind not high things but condescend to those of low estate, be not wise in your own conceits. Do not recompense (repay) evil for evil, but  do good. If possible live peaceably with all men.  Avenge not yourselves, but give place to wrath, for it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay. Therefore, if thy enemy hungers, feed him, if he thirsts, give him drink, in doing so you shall heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Do good. He loved us so much that he gave us his son, Jesus, as a ransom for our sins. That doesn't mean that we can do it our way. There is only one way, Jesus. We need to be saved by asking Jesus to forgive us our sins, repent, (turn from your evil), trust Jesus to do the things you can't. He forgives your sins by grace through faith. He gives us beauty for ashes. He gives his Holy Spirit to help us. He gives us his love and peace.
