A Soldier of the Cross
Am I a soldier of the cross, the sacred cross? A foll'wer of the Lamb, the blessed Lamb? And shall I fear to own His cause, to own His cause? Or blush to speak His name.
Tho' the battle may be hard and the conflict sore, Rough and rocky the road we are traveling o'er; Hold on a little longer, Take Jesus by the hand, He'll guide you safe to the glory land.
Must I be carried to the skies, up to the skies, On flow'ry beds of ease, on beds of ease? While others fought to win the prize, to win the prize, And sailed thru bloody seas.

Sure I must fight if I would reign, if I would reign, Increase my courage, Lord, my courage Lord; I'll bear the toll, endure the pain, endure the pain, Supported by Thy Word.
